The Hawaiian island chain is made up of 132 islands, though we generally only think of the eight main islands, Ni'ihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kahoolawe and Hawaii. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and located over 2400 miles from the nearest continent has created a unique underwater environment, in fact over 25% of marine life is endemic to Hawaii.
| The Kona Aggressor IIDecades of oozing lava have created spectacular arches and underwater formations that have been transformed into vibrant hard coral reefs. You will explore miles and miles of the Big Island’s best dive sites from the comfort of a floating resort, the Kona Aggressor II. The Big Island's volcanic underwater topography is a diver's wonderland. Lava tubes, bommies, arches and huge craters like "Au Au Crater," create a spectacular backdrop for Hawaii's many indigenous species of buttlerfly fish. Photographers will delight in the many patient subjects like Spanish Dancers, turtles, mantas, frogfish, whales, mantas, eagle rays, oceanic white tips, spinner dolphins, whale sharks and turtles 5 x “Deluxe” staterooms with queen size bed and single bunk, lavatory, hair dryer, private head and shower, port window, and individual AC climate control. 1 x “Quad” stateroom with two full-sized berths, two single berths, lavatory, hair dryer, private head and shower, individual AC climate control, and TV/DVD. | Kona Aggressor II AmenitiesThe Kona Aggressor II moors above the dive site. Our spacious, well designed dive deck makes diving effortless. The crew will take care of your every need, helping divers in and out of the water. Travel between dive sites is done during meals to maximize bottom time.
Keep your snorkeling gear handy. Melon-headed whales, pilot whales, spinner dolphin and other pelagics often surprise guests when they least expect it! Photo Services: A full line of digital underwater cameras, lenses and strobes are available for rent. Photo and video courses are taught weekly. | Sample ItinerarySaturday: Guests arriving at Keahole Airport in the afternoon are transferred to the Kailua Pier and luggage is taken aboard the boat. Boarding is available after 5:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., the vessel departs for its first anchorage while the onboard chef serves a delicious dinner. Afterwards, the Captain gives a detailed welcome aboard and safety briefing. Sunday: Dive briefing! Beginning Sunday morning, guests may enjoy up to five dives each day. All dives are conveniently made from the mothership. Excellent snorkelling is available for non-diving passengers. While you are diving, the chef prepares delicious snacks and scrumptious meals, served on schedule. Night dives are offered throughout the week, conditions permitting. Monday through Thursday: Diving continues along the Big Island’s western coast at favourites like Paradise Pinnacle, Tubestria Tunnel, The Hive, Turtle Pinnacle and Amphitheater. The Kona Aggressor II ventures far from the reach of day operators to beautiful South Point, the southernmost tip of Hawaii. Friday: After diving, the Kona Aggressor II returns to Kailua-Kona at approximately 1:00 p.m. Guests may shop or sightsee in Kona. The Captain and crew host an evening cocktail party at 5:00 p.m. The crew will arrange transportation to a local restaurant. Saturday Checkout: Checkout time is 8:00 a.m. Guests are transferred to the airport.
